Baking Ribbon

Hey :)

I had some comments on my curly ribbon on my mini album.  So I wanted to quickly share how I made it. I had it laying around from when I used to make hair bows. This is how korker hair bows are made.

It is really simple.  I got a dowel from Walmart, It has been awhile but I believe it was 1/4 in diameter, and cut it in half so it was 18 inches. I got clothes pins from the dollar store.  You cut a yard of ribbon and clip it to one end of the dowel and just wind it around until the whole length is on the dowel, secure the other end.

You put it on a cookie sheet and bake it at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes then take it out of the oven and let it cool completely. Remove the clothespins and you have curly ribbon.  Cut into sections and that's it.

The cool thing is they make square dowels so you can have square ribbon too. You can do this with grosgrain ribbon or satin ribbon.

Have a great St. Patrick's day :)
