Paper Bag albums

Hi Everyone,
This is such a crazy time of the year.  We have less than a week til school starts, and I bought stuff put it in a "safe" place and can't find it.. GRRR!  I am working on a project for a National Teddy Bear day hop, next week.  Please come back and check it out.  Anyway, I have decided to post a few projects randomly from before I had a blog.

So, I decided to show a paper bag album. I like to make them, the ones I am going to show, needed a lot more work, but 4 days before my husband went on vacation he decided I needed to make 5 albums for his family!  I was beyond stressed, so they are super basic, but I LOVE the paper I used.  It was all from a SEI kit. The only things not SEI were the chipboard cover and the paper bags. I love the colors and the kit was fabulous, cause I everything I needed was in it.

WARNING! The pictures are cruddy. When I took them, I never imagined even having a blog or anything like that.

Flower Hair clips

I am soo excited!! This whole thing posted cause Princess Buttercup got her cut, getting ready for second grade.  Afterwards we went to Walmart and she wanted to get a flower clip.  $5 for a stinking flower, not gonna happen.  So, I was know how to make them, just hadn't made any for a while.  The awesome idea came when I thought out the centers and remember my Mom has TONS of old jewelry that was my Grandma's and Great Grandma's. It is all old and broken, but it was still kept all these years. So I called my super fab Mom and she said I could come over and go through the flowers she has and the jewelry!

Some of the pieces of jewelry I am not putting in flowers, just putting them on clips for me.  I won't let Princess Buttercup wear some of these, just because I wouldn't want them lost.  So some are for me, some for her and some to share.

I will have more pictures to share and I make more.  There are a few I want to try on headbands too.

WARNING!!  Lots of pictures ahead. :)

What a lucky ducky!

A few weeks ago, I had a small lucky streak.  I won 2 fabulous prizes in one week.  I just got my second prize and I wanted to share.
First, over at Market Street Stamps, I won the super cool punched tin background stamp.  It is so cute!  I used it in my project I posted yesterday.  I am thinking of trying embossing with it.

Second, at Paper This and That I just got this adorable mini album.  My husband laughed, as soon as I opened the package, I said "Oh, for cute!".   He is still making fun of me an hour later.  :)

Speaking of lucky duckies, I will be in a hop on September 9th for National Teddy Bear day.  I will be having some blog candy during the hop too. So someone else will get to be a lucky ducky. :)

I tried something new...

I have a hard time with certain colors and themes.  I wanted to try something different so I used browns with just a splash of color.

The base is brown cardstock.  I used the Market Street Stamps Punched tin background.  I cut it down and put it on. I just got the We are Memory Keepers, sew easy.  I love it!!!  I took a piece of cardstock and sewed the green on it.  I then attached that.  I dashed all around the edges.  I took a little ribbon and tied it around the top.  I used a big circle punch, I think it is 2 inches, popped it up with pop dots.  The Hi is a die cut I got at Archivers this weekend, I pulled it off my daughters card. :)  Then just added some gemstones to the HI.

I will be entering this in the Market Street Stamps Block Party.

Carter's Quilt

I made this quilt for my friends baby.  She lives in Oklahoma and I don't get to see her very often. Her little boy Carter is 3 months old and I just got to see him for the first time.  I have been rubbing it in, our other friends haven't seen him yet.  :)

I sewed the top and my sister did the binding and hand quilted it for me.  It was a pretty easy pattern.  I cut 2.5 inch strips, and then sewed 4 strips together. Then I cut the long strips into squares.  I believe they were 8 inch squares. To sew them together, I just switched directions every square. If that makes sense :)

Have a fabulous day!
