Hi!  My daughter is having a playdate tomorrow, so I am betting that I will not have a chance to post a project.  So I got an extra one done today.  I used an Artful Delights Sketch.  I love her sketches, I have used them quite a bit. Over at Whimsical Wednesday there is a use your scratches challenge.  I always try and use scraps.  One of the requirements is to show your scrap pile that you use, so here they are.


For my card, i used a Studio G Base, and cut my scraps to 1.5 x 4 and inked the edges using white ink and aqua ink, both studio g.  I put a little adhesive on the back and started winding my twine around the bottom.  I then put them on my base.

I drew the circle with a colored pencil, and colored the image from Digital Delights By Louby Lu, his name is Celebration Charlie.

Have a Beachy Day!

I wanted to make a summery type of card. There is a challenge at Paper This and That for a slice of summer card. Which at first I was thinking watermelon or something like that, but once I had this idea, it stuck with me.  I took a Studio G card base is it 5x5, I covered it with light blue paper. The aqua paper I ran through the cuttlebug to make it look like waves.  The brown paper I wanted to have a beachy look.  I took and tore it at an angle to have it look like white foam on the beach. I colored all the cute little creatures and sand castle with Rose Art colored pencils and cut them out with my Cutterbee.  I will say I absolutely LOVE my CutterBee.  It is so awesome, it is sharp and the best for cutting out digital stamps.
Using a 1" circle punch I punched out the sun, and then glittered it up with Studio G glitter glue.  I drew the rays on with it as well.  I typed the sentiment on the computer and printed it out.

Crochet Cotton Addiction




 

Big pile of colors

So, a few days ago I found this super cool tutorial on how to make your own bakers twine. Here is the link for Life Sweet Life blog. I love the look of the twine, but it gets so spendy to have all the colors that you want.  Basically the tutorial says to use crochet cotton and markers to make your own.  It is not exactly the same, but it is close and so easy.  I was INSPIRED!!!  My mom has tons of crochet cotton, and she is the best mommy ever and let me take as much as I wanted.  I took solid colors, variegated colors, and a big roll of white to make my own.  I now have about 100 different colors.  Not only do i have white and colored twine, I did some with more than one color.  Black and orange, red and pink, red and green, pink and yellow. The list goes on.

The only thing I did differently than the tutorial is I used cardboard strips so I could wrap 6 or 7, instead of one at a time.  I am storing them on embroidery floss cards, so they stay nice and neat.

I am super excited.  I really like to try new things and I just tried a wiper card.  So over at ScrapbookaholicbyAbby you have to use Bling. Well, that is easy, I LOVE Bling!!   Then, Cricut Love wants a wiper card, and she included some fantastic directions.  Using all those specifications, this is what I came up with.  Hope you like it. :)

I wanted to alter this photo album.  I found it on clearance a few months ago, and I couldn't pass up the deal I got. 

When I heard about this challenge at Patches of Pink, its fate had been sealed...lol

Not only is this for a challenge, there is also a design team call for Patches of Pink.  I love using her digi stamp that her husband made and I think it would be so fun to be on her team.  So I decided to try.  :)

This is the how I cut the paper to have the window.

All the paper came from Oriental Trading.  I used my glue glide pro to adhere all the paper to the photo album.

 The flowers are from Plantin School book, they are cut at 2", 1 3/4", 1 1/2", and 1".  Using mini glue dots out the layers of flowers together and top with a button.

PS Please ignore my pretty sheets. I am really not feeling well, and I think a certain problem is about to flare up, so I crafted in bed and I wanted to get this up before I got too sick. Thanks for understanding.

Teacher Gift Necklace, Plus Giveaway

I am not feeling very well today, but I still wanted to put up a project.  My daughter is doing a Summer Academy this summer and I wanted to have a cute gift to give her teachers at the end of the month.

It was a really simple project.  I cut the paper to 1"x1" and used the rub ons for the letters.  Put the glass tile on top of the pape , and then trim the little overhang off.  Put the glass tile aside and put a mini glue dot on the back and started wrapping the twine around it.  Make sure there is excess twine to wrap around the front.

Using craft glue to attach the paper to the tile make to get glue around the twine, and squeeze.  This part gets a little messy but easy to clean up after. :) 

After the image is all glued down wrap the twine around the front of the glass tile and tie a bow.  Flip the tile over and attach the bail using craft glue.

That's it Super Duper Easy!  I just an not sure what I want to do for the necklace...any ideas?
